Bodnant Garden

Posted on: December 4th, 2011 by Rob

One of the world’s most spectacular gardens, Bodnant Garden is situated above the river Conwy, with stunning views across Snowdonia. Begun in 1875, Badnant Garden is the creation of four generations of Aberconways and features huge Italianate terraces and formal lawns on its upper level, with a wooded valley and wild garden below.

There are dramatic colours throughout the season, with fine collections of rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias in early spring, and the spectacular laburnum arch, a 55-yard tunnel of golden blooms from mid-May to early June. Herbaceous borders, roses, hydrangeas, water lillies and clematis delight throughout the summer, with superb autumn colours during October.
